Welcome to the wonderful world of the Digestive system and all of its glory.
When studying the various structures of digestion, here are the basic questions that
you need to ask each time :
1.Does food pass through this ?
2.What is the function of each part of the system ?
3.Is there mechanical or physical digestion that takes place here ? If so, describe it.
4.Is there chemical digestion that takes place here ? If so, what is the enzyme, where is it produced, what does it attack and what is the product of this attack, and at what pH does it work best ?
5.For the accessory organs, what chemicals are produced that help in digestion ?
Make and fill out this table for each chemical (enzymes, acid, mucus, neutralizing agent) by the various organs involved in digestion :
