Welcome to the wonderful world of
Rational Numbers
We have just begun rational numbers. The students have been given a handout to do that reviews what
they already should know about rational numbers. You can fine all you need to know about rational #s
in Chapter 1 of the text book. We will be working on a graphic organizer to present information needed
to complete this section based on the PLOs in the BC Curriculum. The graphic organizer will contain the following
information : What is a rational #, defined in both book terms and own terms. They will give examples of
rational numbers such as fractions, integers and decimals. They will show the steps of how to convert a fraction to
a decimal and vice versa. They will also demonstrate how the various operations are performed with regards
to rational numbers. This will be done through various activities and worksheets handed out in the classroom
and also book work.
